As a school, from EYFS to KS4, we are focussing on the Oracy skills we have and looking at how we can develop these speaking and listening skills. It is really important that we can explain our point of view, listen to others and be able to discuss these opinions giving evidence and examples. Year Four have been using these skills in class and have begun Oracy assemblies. These are quite different from normal assemblies as it the students that do all the talking. They have an opportunity to talk to a pair and then present their opinions to the year group.
Miss Caffrey, Mr Cook, Mrs Dinham and Mrs Broad have been so impressed with the ideas they have shared, the examples they have given, the confidence to speak in front of others and the way they have listened to feedback.
