We are extremely grateful to Angela Nicholson and the staff at Almondsbury Garden Centre who have donated a full van load of compost to help with our various gardening projects on and around the school site.
Mind, the mental health charity notes that spending time in green space or bringing nature into your everyday life can benefit both your mental and physical wellbeing and that this is equally true for adults and students alike.
Here at BLC this is something that we see every day, with a wide variety of different activities taking place across the school grounds, the Millennium Green and in our own Courtyard Garden in Secondary.
The donated compost will be used to further enhance the gardening opportunities for our students and continue to improve the green spaces around the school grounds.
Mr Cockram would like to extend his thanks once again to the Almondsbury team and to his team of garden helpers this year, in particular Midas from Year 6, Michelle, Lewis, Cayden, Kenzo and Ruby in Year 7 and Jack in Year 8.
A special thank you also goes to a further two Year 7 students, Lucas for his particular care for the lavender plants and Rio for keeping the watering can filled.
Happy gardening and enjoy the summer.
