8th December 2011

Dear Parent/Carer

There will not be a PAWS this week due to the fact that students were only in for two days because of staff training.  If you would like feedback on these two days please contact the centre.  Can we remind parents the importance of KS4 students attending their work experience.  This is part of their curriculum and is important for their future career planning.  Well done to Casey for securing a place at a local children's nursery, Cheryl for her place at Wilkinsons, Kallen and Cameron for securing a place at Knowle West Media Centre, Kieran who is working with his father and well done to all of those students who are still supporting New Fosseway.

CHRISTMAS FAYRE - Tuesday, 13th December 2011

Please don't forget to come in for our Christmas Fayre on Tuesday at 1.30pm, even just for a cup of coffee and a mince pie.  The students have worked so hard at making gifts and cakes this week.  They need your support.

END OF TERM TRIPS:

The students from KS3 and KS4 will be going out on their end of term trips on Thursday.  They will need a contribution of £5.00 towards the cost.  At the moment the Ski Centre has been the most popular choice but unless we receive a contribution of £5.00 this will be unable to go ahead.  Details to follow.

SAILING TRIPS:

As in previous years we are again running our residential sailing trips in Salcombe.  All students will be able to experience a life on the ocean waves but again without contributions we will not be able to continue funding these trips.  The cost is only a quarter of the full price and is an absolute bargain.  We will send out savings card or you can ask for one in the school office.  We will need a £10.00 deposit to secure your child's place.

NEXT WEEK' S DIARY:

Monday - normal school day

Tuesday 1.30pm - SSC Fayre

Wednesday - Normal school day

Thursday - Reward Trips

Friday - SSC Assembly

We will close at 12.00 noon on Friday, 16th.

We return to school on Tuesday, 3rd January but this will be our Review Day.  Your review appointment is:

Tuesday, 3rd January at (time will be allocated)

Your child needs to attend with you.  Any outside agencies e.g. home schools will also be invited so it is important that you both attend.  If X does not turn up on this day then X  will be marked as unauthorised.

Thank you for your continued support.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, 3rd January.

Regards

Kate Barnett
