Time to Share works with disabled children and young adults, most of whom have learning difficulties, and their families. They match children and young people one to one with volunteers to build long term befriending relationships and increase their access to and involvement in leisure activities in their local community.
Volunteers spend on average two to three hours a week with the child or young person they are matched with. The project accepts referrals from families living in any area of Bristol.
‘I spoken to the staff at Time to Share; there is currently a waiting list for the ‘befriender' scheme. There are some available though, a worker would come out to meet your child and find a befriender who was a good match! It sounds great, check out their website.'
