Redcliffe House

The introduction of the house system has seen the identity of the school change and helped bring the community closer together. Redcliffe have played their part in the development of house identity throughout the year.

The introduction of house competitions inevitably leads to fierce rivalry between each house. I am pleased to say that Redcliffe students and staff have embraced this and have been keen to get involved and support each other throughout the competitions. This was particularly evident in the way Redcliffe approached House Day and Sports Day this year. On both occasions students ensured that the house was well represented in each activity so that points were gained for the overall competition. Individual students showed effort and determination so that they could support the team event. I would like to thank Miss Cooper for sorting out staff shirts for Sports Day so that Redcliffe staff looked the best on the day. Just a shame Pero had to copy her idea! All the students were excellent on the day and were a real credit to the house. We all look forward to finding out the results. Whatever the outcome RED IS THE BEST!

The introduction of the house system has also seen students working together and with their tutors and associate tutor on a daily basis. This makes the tutor session each morning an invaluable part of the school day. It is great each day to see students from Redcliffe working together and supporting each other.

Throughout the year the main area of concern for Redcliffe house has been attendance, we have found ourselves to be in 4th place in the house competition. There are far too many students who currently have low attendance that lets us down. While this affects the house competition more importantly it has a massive impact on the learning of individual students. Throughout the year one tutor group has consistently had high attendance and has lead the way. So a massive well done to Mr. Buckley and R-PB on winning the tutor prize.

We are always keen to recognize achievement and as the year as gone on Redcliffe students have increasingly collected more rewards. This once again is great for individual students but also means that as a house we have been able to close the gap. We look forward to the presentation of the house cup at the end of term.

I would like to finish by congratulating everyone connected to Redcliffe for a great first year as a House Team. It only works because you all put in so much effort to make it happen.
