1)
• Make sure my child has breakfast, drinks plenty of water and eats a balanced diet to help keep their brain alert so they can concentrate
• See that my child has enough sleep and exercise to keep healthy and help them maintain a reasonable balance between school work and leisure activities
• Keep school informed of anything that might affect my child's ability to concentrate on learning
• Support my child's learning by providing a quiet space to do homework

• Send my child to school on time and inform the school at once if my child is absent
• Encourage my child to walk around BLC carefully respecting the right of others to be safe
• Support the BLC policies on good behaviour, anti-racism, anti-bullying and work with the school to promote respect for all members of the community; so that all may feel safe

• Send my child to BLC regularly, in the correct uniform and equipped with all they need in a bag
• Support the BLC sanctions by ensuring that my child attends any detentions and showing them that we expect BLC rules to be followed
• Attend parents report sessions, Performance Review Day and any other meetings called to discuss my child's progress and life in BLC
• Encourage their progress by discussing work, supporting them in homework by recognising that the home shares the responsibility to keep children interested in learning
• Accept that their individual learning and progress targets may be different to those of other students and encourage them to work towards their targets
• Attend Parents' Evenings, Performance Review Days and any other meetings called to discuss my child's progress and life at BLC

• Ensure my child's family responsibilities do not interfere with Enrichment and Extended Learning Sessions
• Encourage my child to join in any competitions, trips and alternative activities that are offered to extend their experiences
• Help my child to see the value of taking part in activities beyond the classroom in order to develop their citizenship skills.

• Help my child to appreciate the value of tax payers' money by respecting BLC property and equipment and paying for any damage or graffiti they cause
• Encourage my child to learn the value of money by saving pocket money towards the cost of a school visit

• Take care of my body and mind so that I am ready for learning by eating sensibly, getting enough sleep and exercising regularly
• Speak to the school nurse or Head of House about any health worries that occur in school

• Ensure that BLC is free from bullying and racism by keeping to the advice given in the anti-bullying/anti-racism policies
• Attend BLC regularly and on time so that school and home always know where I am
• Follow the Good Behaviour Guide so that others around me feel safe
• Show care and respect for the environment of the building and surrounding neighbourhood by keeping it free from litter which could cause a health and safety hazard

• Arrive at BLC equipped with pens, books and anything else needed to learn each day
• Do all class work and coursework to the highest standard possible
• Accept that each class is a place of learning and join in the learning in the best way I can, always respecting the right of others to learn uninterrupted
• Accept that I will be given learning targets that are right for me and that I might receive different rewards and sanctions from others at times
• Complete all homework to the best of my ability; spending enough time on it to do it thoughtfully and hand it in on time
• Avoid getting detentions but if given attend them the first time

• Be polite, respectful and co-operative to all members of BLC and the general public whether they are students, staff or visitors, avoiding offensive language or behaviour at all times
• Help communication between home and BLC by giving to my family all newsletters and other information from staff and return any notes from home to my tutor
• Take a full and active part in all aspects of BLC life including attending the Extended Learning activities
• Contribute sensibly to questionnaires and events such as Dialogue Days so that I can help the school to understand my opinions about life and learning at BLC

• Respect the value of tax payers' money by contributing financially to any deliberate damage or graffiti caused
• Accept that my education is the gateway to wider choices in the world of work and leisure and learn to consider financial choices carefully
• Begin to learn skills needed for adult life such as team work, managing time and money and planning ahead

• Provide a healthy, happy learning environment and will aim to treat all students fairly and politely
• Provide teaching about healthy lifestyles particularly within PSHC and PE
• Ensure the school nurse performs duties expected of her and that health advice is available to all students
• Continue to monitor catering provision to ensure healthy options are provided and encouraged

• Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed throughout the school
• Make sure that families know who to contact in BLC to discuss concerns

• Provide a broad and balanced curriculum, as set out in the prospectus; which provides for students' academic, social, moral and spiritual development
• Ensure that work is appropriate for each student, is well taught and helpfully marked and that homework is set and marked according to school policies
• Ensure that students are set appropriate individual targets for improvement
• Provide a range of learning activities in lessons and beyond that encourage progress through a variety of rewards and sanctions
• Set high standards in all aspects of school life and make sure students know what is expected of them

• Provide a range of extra-curricular activities and opportunities to allow students to develop responsibility as active citizens, to explore new areas of interest and to mix with a variety of students across the school
• Ensure that students understand how school policies apply to them and provide boundaries that keep everyone safe so they can be secure enough to contribute energetically to school life
• Provide families with regular information about BLC life and students' progress through newsletters, our website, Performance Review Days, Parents' Evenings etc

• Use its budget to benefit all students
• Teach students some basic financial literacy and awareness in PSHC and Careers Education and Guidance
• Provide many opportunities for students to practice team work skills needed in the workplace
• Offer some opportunities for involvement in enterprise projects

• BLC will regularly monitor the effectiveness of the Home School Agreement and will inform parent(s) / carer(s) of any changes or revisions.
