The International School Award

Mrs Nicholls must be thanked for her hard work in supporting our recent application.

BLC Primary has once more been awarded the International Schools Award! This was given to the school for all of the work we have done based around other countries and cultures.

The International School Award, or ISA for short, is an accreditation scheme for curriculum-based international work in schools. The scheme provides recognition for teachers and their schools working to instil a global dimension into the learning experience of all children and young people. This is what we have achieved here at BLC Primary.

Last year, pupils from across Primary took part in French lessons, enjoyed International Dance and Book Weeks, learnt stories and songs from around the world, celebrated Chinese New Year, wrote to children in America, learnt about India and even took our school bear, Gizmo, on holiday! The award lasts for 3 years and we have lots more exciting International events planned for this year, so look out for details. If you would like to take Gizmo away with you, please ask at the office - he already has his suitcase packed!"
