Music at the Bridge
What a fantastic year it has been for all of the children in Primary, we have seen many, many magnificent performances from every single year group and even some staff! It is great to see a huge increase in confidence when performing right from some of our youngest children in Nursery and reception.
Many songs have been sung, words been spoken and lines been learned, we are very, very proud of the musical acheivments this year. We have received many positive comments from parents who have really got on board, especially in the team 2 pantomime last week, the audience participation was outstanding!
Even as I write there is still one performance to go!! Just to name some of them:
Team 2 have been involved with a local Musician, Bill Rogers, in a music project Stomp
Some of Team 1 have taken part in a composition unit
Many of our singers in Team 2 have actually recorded their singing and produced a CD
Some classes have had lessons with Mr Thomas the secondary music teacher
Some children sang at the New Fosseway music festival
Reception and Year 1 did - 'A Cock-A-Doodle' Christmas plus performances throughout the year
Nursery did the Nativity
Choir have sung in assembly and with the Drifters
We now have a staff choir who sang at our Olympic opening ceremony with the children's choir - A personal highlight of mine
Thank you for all your support this year, it has been a busy one! Well done children!
