Bridge Learning Campus has developed a new and exciting partnership with The City of Bristol Gymnastics Centre. The state-of-the-art International Standard Gymnastics Centre is situated within the £40 million Bridge Learning Campus, the first of its kind in Bristol and one of a very few pioneering all-through schools in the United Kingdom. The uniqueness of its situation has enabled the Campus to develop an innovative new gymnastics programme to support elite gymnasts within a school environment.
Talented gymnasts of all ages from 3-16 years are able to follow specialist programmes that enable them to train during curriculum time with flexible timetabling and a personalised curriculum and to follow a very specific after school programme. At present elite gymnasts train for approximately 25 hours a week. They are supported by full time coaches and follow a pre- planned training and competition schedule. Their academic progress is carefully monitored and supported by Life Style Management. Each elite gymnast has a personal mentor.
Bridge Elite Squad gymnasts are committed and dedicated to achieving high level gymnastic skills. They compete in Compulsory Grades and competitions at County, Regional and National Levels. These gymnasts are working towards Regional and National Squad selection with the aim of representing Great Britain at International Competitions.
Bridge Potential Squad gymnasts are being introduced to the basic skills that will be required for competitive level gymnastics. This group of boys and girls have been selected after a process of Talent ID.
