Admissions at Bridge Trust in Learning Community Opportunities Everythying else at Bridge |
At the Bridge Learning Campus we have a belief that it is important to try to reflect how people actually live and work in communities in the world outside of school. Therefore over the last few years we began to question the idea of placing students wholly in groupings where everyone is roughly the same age. If you think about it this is a little false and does not really happen anywhere outside of school. Therefore as children progress from reception through to age 16 at the campus they begin to mix much more with different ages of children.
When they enter our phase 3 & 4 (secondary) we have vertical tutor groups. This means that in each tutor group there will be a mix of ages from year 6 students through to year 11. This is really successful and allows a great deal of supportive work being done between our students. All of our phase 3 and 4 children are trained in coaching & mentoring skills which helps to support the work they do with each other.
The vertical tutor groups are supported by a class tutor and an associate tutor which mean that staff to student ratios are very low. We also operate a traditional House system with 4 Houses: Clifton, Pero, Redcliffe & Temple.
